Colin P. Meyer, RN, BSN

Registered nurse · Tokyo, Japan

Hello, my name is Colin.

I am an American registered nurse with a background in inpatient psychiatric care, emergency mental health intake, and school nursing, holding an active Virginia multi-state RN license. After a six-year break from clinical practice while living abroad, I am exploring ways to step back into nursing. I put this site together to share my healthcare background alongside the technical and self-directed work I have taken on since leaving the hospital floor.

In 2021, my wife’s career took our family overseas. We spent four years in Singapore before moving to Japan last year. Because of local visa restrictions, I have not been able to work as a nurse here, which stretched out my time away from the bedside.

During these years abroad, I have supported myself through investments and independent projects. Along the way, I picked up practical technical skills, starting with basic coding and eventually using modern AI tools to build websites, research tools, data workflows, and custom agent harnesses.

For me, stepping back into nursing would mean bringing more than just my clinical baseline. I want to put what I have learned about AI, software tools, and hands-on technical problem-solving to work on real healthcare challenges. If you are doing work that blends patient care with modern technology and business creation, I would love to talk.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Feel free to check out my résumé or send me an email if you would like to connect.

My independent work and projects, including the tools and experiments I've built while living in Japan, are on my other site, The Beckoning Cat.
